Get the Good One!
Excellent scale! I purchased this 5 years ago and it works as well as the day I got it. Simple to use, yet accurate, easy to clean, turns off itself after a period of not being used. It measures in grams, pounds and ounces, plus has a tare feature. I had purchased a couple cheaper scales previously from other companies which were inaccurate and didn’t take long before the scale stopped working at all. This scale is priced fairly and well worth the money.

Great, reliable scale at a great price!
I got this scale for my brother for a gift. He claims it’s one of the best and most used gifts I ever got him.I of course visit him a few times a year, and had previously gotten a similar scale for myself, so I knew what he was in for. It’s incredibly easy to use. The buttons are legible and clear. It’s sharp in the various colors it comes in. And I like how the “scale” part is elevated above the body, so if you place a bowl on it, it’s *much* easier to read than the scales that have the screen on the same level as the scale portion. He uses it to weigh out his coffee every morning. I personally use mine mainly to weigh out flours for baking. It’s an indispensible tool in the kitchen, looks great, and is reliable and long lasting. And a fantastic value.

Good so far.
just got this. But first testing it works and the weight matches my old one. Easy to use, two buttons. Easy to zero out and reset. The ounce feature also gives it in pound if over 1 pound. So shows 1lb, 2oz. Rather than 18oz. Small but big enough for what I need.I also like that it takes REGULAR AA batteries and not green energy crap that I have to recharge until the batteries no longer take charge. Then it becomes junk because you can’t change the internal batteries. All you do is change the two batteries.

Good functional food scale
Nice easy to read food scale. Lightweight and compact. I thought it was a rechargeable unit but it’s battery only. My mistake. I wish it was a little wider and had more decimal places. So far, no issues with the unit and appears to be accurate. It has a round surface which is good to set your mixing bowl on. Easy to use buttons. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase.

Excellent, accurate scale, and easy to use!
I purchased this scale after much debate between this scale and the EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, Silver. However, after purchasing a bathroom scale from the EatSmart company and being very unhappy with it, I decided to go with Escali instead (navy color). And, I’m glad I did!The device is very simple. It’s also very lightweight. It comes with two Duracell AA batteries that you pop into the battery compartment in the back. That’s all the setup it requires. There are two buttons: An on/tare/off button, and a g/oz button (to shift between grams or ounces). You can put a plate/ bowl etc. on the platform (which is the size of a small saucer) and then press the “on/tare/off” button, and it will be set to zero; you can then add food on the plate and will give you only the food’s weight. You can press the button each time you want to reset it to zero and measure a new ingredients separately. You have to hold the button for several seconds for it to turn off, but it does auto-shut off after a couple of minutes. The “grams/ oz” button allows you to switch between grams, total ounces, or lbs + ounces (for example, 17 ounces would be displayed as 1 lb 1 oz.) It also remembers your previous setting; if you place it on “ounces” and turn it off, it will turn on displaying ounces. The scale has a precision of 1 or two grams. When I placed a nickel on it, it displayed the proper 5 grams; 2 nickels yielded 10 grams. However, sometimes it seems to waver between displays, but only by a gram or two (for example, one time it couldn’t decide between 6 or 7 grams). Also, a quarter coin is 5.67 grams, and the display read 5 grams. This may be a problem for the stricter dieters, but I really doubt it would make a difference in most cases. The biggest problem (for me) is the small platform; if you place a plate or similar container on the platform, it will obscure the reading on the display. This can be remedied by placing the plate further back on the platform, so long as it doesn’t fall off. Also, if the platform were bigger, it follows that the scale would be bigger, and take up more valuable counter space. Also–and I don’t know if this is true for all digital scales–don’t place this near a microwave, as the reading will be way off. I was quite shocked when weighing something, and the display of numbers was going haywire. I finally realized the microwave was on, and moved it to a place nearby; the display was fine again. Again, this may be simple common knowledge, but in case you didn’t know, now you do!Overall, this is a great, affordable kitchen scale which I would recommend to anybody.

Very Accurate Calibration
The scale arrived well packed and in good condition. I installed the batteries (included) and all the functions appeared to work OK. I wanted to make sure the scale was accurate as I wanted to use it for baking, but didn’t have a set of weights. Instead I gathered up some small bags of loose recently issued pennies and quarters that I had been saving and used them to make up some “standards” from a few grams up to a kilogram (tables of the weights of coins can be found on line). I was surprised and pleased to find the scale indicated the calculated weights within one gram throughout the range of my measurements. The scale is rated to weigh from 1 gram up to 5 kilograms, so I may test it at about 2 and 4 kilograms (with some more coins) to see if the accuracy holds at these weights. The only negative I found was that the pan was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it is still adequate for my needs.

Wonderful, easy to setup without reading the Instructions.
Purchased because it was the top pick in a “Wire Cutter” review. The scale was easy to setup, reading the instructions wasn’t required. Just install the 2 AA batteries provided and press the on/off/zero button. Mine defaulted to ounces. Since it’s easier to make vanilla extract in grams because alcohol is sold in ml, I pressed the other button (oz/ml) once and switched the scale to grams. I’ve used it to weigh Vanilla beans for making extract. The formula I use is 0.11 gram of beans per ml of alcohol. I’ve only used the unit for 5 days but it has been fabulous.

Had this for a while now. Works great with daily use and is accurate.

I have bought a couple of weighing scales and this has been the most robust, reliable and easy to use and easy to clean. It’s a bit expensive but totally worth it.

Very accurate to the gram. Easy to use, tare button is very accessible. Small enough to store away in a drawer.

Only negative, display is not lit

I bought the Escali Primo as a straightforward, no nonsense kitchen scale for daily cooking and baking, and it does exactly what it promises. It is light, compact, and quick to respond, with clear readings that are easy to see even when using larger bowls. The controls are minimal but well thought out, with a reliable tare function and simple unit switching between grams and imperial. For portioning ingredients, weighing flour for baking, or general kitchen use, it feels precise and consistent. The build is plastic rather than premium metal, but that keeps it easy to clean and practical for everyday use. It does not feel fragile in normal handling, and the sealed buttons give some reassurance against spills. Using standard AA batteries is also a plus compared to coin cells. It lacks advanced features, but accuracy, speed, and simplicity are its strengths. For the price, it represents very good value and is a dependable tool that quietly earns its place on the counter.
