Worked in our ADT security system
These switches did the job for me. We replaced our old back door – which had an integrated magnetic ADT alarm switch – with a new, metal door. I stuck this switch and magnet on with double-sided foam tape, then wired into the existing security system with wire nuts, and it works well with our ADT alarm system. I suspect most people who gave one-star reviews installed it incorrectly (too much gap between the parts) or used it in the wrong application (e.g., turning a light bulb on and off).

Great value for many sensors
I bought these to use with ratgdo (ESP32) as limit switches for my dry-contact garage door. They work perfectly, one sensor at each end, and the button rides with the motor trolley. The NC switch position is correct for the ratgdo project (although this can be reversed in firmware).Had enough leftover sensors to build a small-scale replica circuit for development, and still some left over to stick on doors.

I’m been in the electrical field for over 35 years. Designing equipment for decades and training dozens of Controls Engineers and Controls Electricians.A normally closed (NC) switch completes an electrical circuit in its resting state, allowing current to flow, and breaks the circuit (stops current) when activated (pressed or triggered), like when a magnetic field is applied.Normal State: Contacts are touching, circuit is complete (closed), current flows.Activated State: Pressing or triggering, like with a magnetic field, the switch physically separates the contacts, breaking the circuit (opening it), and stopping current flow.When you apply a magnetic you exerting an outside force on the switch so these switches are Normally Open NOT Normally Closed.

I had a sensor fall off a window bought these and it works perfectly. Having the wire attached was a huge plus because the wire coming out of the wall was too short.
