Inexpensive & terrific little step counter
My high-tech FitBit Versa was a piece of garbage. Died in 6 months — no reason — and during the time it did work, it was endlessly buggy. In the end, I hated it and decided that rather than invest once again in an expensive smartwatch to track my steps, I’d go low-tech. I’m so glad I did. This little step counter does nothing else — just counts your steps. It won’t tell you the weather; give you “feedback” or “encouragement” and, it can’t steal your personal information either. But, what it does do is WORK. Now, whether or not it is accurate is an open question. I have a step counter on my smartphone too. And, if I use both at the same time, I get pretty much the same step count reading. I’ve also done a low-tech test at home. I walk around the house counting the steps I take and then looking at the counter and seeing if they are close-to-the same reading. There can be a variation of around 10-15 steps, but for the most part — and most of the time — they are pretty close. In short: This is a nifty, easy-to-use, small device that you can clip-on or wear around your neck. If you drop it or submerge it in water and it goes tits up — you can replace it for around $22 dollars. If you don’t need the bells and whistles — this is for you!

Light and Easy to use
After having 2 pricy Fitbits die and are no longer usable over the years, I looked for a simple, no wireless/bluetooth, pedometer. I just wanted to count my steps for the day. This one is great! It comes in a little clip holder that can be easily removed so you can put it on a lanyard. I keep it in the clip and put it over my shoelaces for the best footfall count. I don’t like wearing things on my waist and I think it’s more accurate when it’s actually on my foot. I am retired, and was wondering how many steps I take around the house and on my treadmill and this is perfect. It does have the feature of not counting the first 10 steps if you haven’t been moving for a while, but they explain that is to prevent overcounting of random movements. Once it realizes you are actually walking, it will start counting at 11 steps, so you do get credit for the 10 steps. This counter is light, and it’s pretty accurate – good enough when you’re keeping track of thousands of steps per day. Easy to use, I just push the “reset” button every night and zero it out for the next day’s use. By the way, some reviews show that you have to remove the counter from the clip to push the reset button, but you do not – the clip has space for you to reach the button without having to remove it. Love this pedometer and it comes in lots of colors! Oh, and there’s a 2-year warranty, so that should reassure anyone if there are any issues.
