Level, light, and textured!
These are so nice once they are installed, which does take a bit of effort. Other reviewers are very good at describing the difficulty of installation, so I won’t, but it is…oddly complicated. They are a very nice flat black with a fair amount of texture. So may not like, I love it. You can set a marble on these and they won’t roll off. Says a lot about how level they are as well. They seem to be quite sturdy so far and I’m guessing balsa wood for their lightweight. I’m planning on getting more to do a line around my bedroom ceiling for the many knick knacks I have.

poorly engineered
These shelves will test your levels of trust and commitment. First off, there are FOUR big-honkin-anchors for each shelf. So you REALLY have to be sure you want them bc there is no turning back after that first hole. I looked in my stash for smaller ones but I did not have SIXTEEN of them (yes, there will be 16 half-inch holes on your wall), so I used what was included. In the end, I went for it and it looks nice BUT after all that, it still doesn’t feel stable enough for anything over 3 lbs. I’m not an engineer or physicist and maybe I have trust issues, but I don’t think the internal brackets are long enough to support whatever is going to be placed on the shelf. When I press slightly on the front of it, it jiggles, so I need to make sure objects are weight distributed and is sitting more towards the wall. The brackets are indeed secured to the wall, but I question the shelf’s ability to be used the way I had hoped.

Challenging, but overall nice.
The color was perfect, unfortunately one of my shelves was chipped on the edge and all the metal brackets were very hard to remove from the back of each shelf and 2 sets were bent making it even more challenging to remove them. However, I’m really good at making adjustments and was able to make them work and it came out great.
