Differences of NC, NO, NC/NO
Normally Closed(NC): When the switch is close to the magnet, the circuit is conductive(light on); when the switch is separated from the magnet, the circuit is not conductive(light off).
Normally Opened(NO): When the switch is separated from the magnet, the circuit is conductive(light on); When the switch is close to the magnet, the circuit is not conductive(light off).
NC/NO Combined: The switch has 3 contact types: NC/NO/COM, you can choose to connect two of the contacts(NC-COM or NO-COM).
PLEASE NOTE
A magnetic door contact can only provide a switching signal to the device. It cannot directly load the power supply and cannot be directly connected to the lamp.

It Works!
I had my door replaced. Upon removal of the old door, the existing reed switch hardware was thrown out with it. I wasn’t sure if I should purchase the normally closed or normally open version of the switch. On a whim I was guessing that they meant if the door or window is normally open or closed for the perimeter alarm to arm successfully. So, being that my door is normally closed, I bought the NC (normally closed) version. I connect the existing wires from the alarm wiring to the switch and tried it. Voila! It worked.

The reed switches work fine BUT I have a high failure rate when installed. Order extras over your required amount.

They don’t Clearly define what NO – Normally Open actually means with their Magnetic Switch.
It’s not clear as to how they define the term NO – meaning “Normally Open”. I interpreted it to mean that the switch is open until when the magnet piece gets close enough to close the switch. Apparently that’s not the case. All of the switches I received in the package are NC – meaning Normally Closed until the magnet piece is close enough to make them Open. I’m going to have to return my units because of this.

Contact position is (not) consistent. Wiper reversed on some.
Sent seller a message about quality control issue. I checked each item before installing with my meter. I found that some of the switches had the Wiper reversed …. wiper was on the “right” side screw terminal, and others were on the “left” screw terminal. Easy to fix, but headache if I have to sit and meter each piece to make sure the made it correctly, and to avoid any alarm issues. Had to mark each switch with a marker to be sure they were wired correctly.
