To start: Unboxing was simple and clean. Everything was well organized. The three attachments (body, face, intimate) were clearly labeled and easy to swap. Nothing felt flimsy or confusing out of the box. I appreciated that I could go from box to setup quickly without feeling overwhelmed.Instructions: overwhelming at first, then very easy. The printed instruction manual is thorough—but honestly, a bit overwhelming at first glance. There’s a lot of safety and technical information packed in. The game changer is the Philips Lumea app. You download the app and it walks you through step-by-step instructions with visuals. Each step is broken down clearly: prep, attachment choice, strength level, and treatment technique. The visuals make it very easy to follow, even if you’ve never used an IPL device before. Once I used the app, the process felt straightforward and controlled.Treatment: This device uses multiple strength levels so you can work up gradually. I worked up to level 2, and there was no pain at all with each zap. The sensation was very mild—more warmth than anything uncomfortable. One feature I really like is the built-in safety system: The laser must be flush against the skin to activate. You get a clear “ready” indicator when the device is positioned correctly. If it’s not flush, it simply won’t zap. This is a great safety feature and removes a lot of guesswork. You always know when it’s safe to treat the area.Results so far (after two sessions): I’ve completed two sessions, spaced two weeks apart, and I’m already seeing changes. Hair growth is noticeably slower. There’s less regrowth overall in the treated area. Just started my treatment and feeling optimistic
Device is very easy to use and I love that it has multiple attachments for body, face and armpits/bikini line. I am not completely through the first 4 sessions (just finished my 2nd session) but I am already seeing good results on my legs and armpits. I am not yet seeing the best results on my bikini line – which is what I was most excited about – but it is still too early to say, so I will keep trying. I can tell that my skin is the thickest at my bikini line, which may be why it needs a couple more treatments to see good results. I am excited to finish the 4 sessions needed for full treatment and see the results.Also, the App is great and super useful. It really helps with reminders and scheduling your sessions. Just make sure you go to the App store to download the app. By downloading the app it also helps you register your product really easily and by doing so, it increased my warranty to 60 months, which was much appreciated.I am a big fan of Philips Sonicare and very loyal to that brand. I was intrigued to learn that Philips had entered the IPL market and am hoping to grow just as loyal to this product. I had actually just booked my first professional hair removal appointment when I learned of this product and decided to try it first. Here’s hoping I made the right choice! So far I am feeling quite optimistic and am happy to save the time of traveling back and forth to an office for laser hair removal.
