DESCRIPTION OF USS8
The USS8 is an all in one solution to give you great sounding bass in your vehicle without taking up a ton of space. This sub enclosure is only 2.9″ thick so that it can easily fit under your seat. The amplifier is built in, so installation and wiring is easy and clean. This is a true all in one subwoofer system with the sub in the enclosure, and a top of the line amp built in.
We wanted to truly make installation a breeze so we designed this unit with the user in mind from start to finish. We added high level inputs so you can install this to an aftermarket or factory system. The high level input allows you to install this even if you have no preamp outputs available.
The smart turn-on circuit will sense that an audio signal is present and turn on the amplifier. When you turn off your music signal the amplifier built into this subwoofer system will automatically turn itself off.
Another thing we did to make installation a breeze is we put all the inputs and outputs on one side. This makes wiring neater and easier. Our competitor’s models are more challenging to install.
The USS8 has 600 watts of peak power and 150 watts RMS. This model is CEA-2006 compliant which means the ratings are approved by a 3rd party so you can be 100% sure that this item will produce the power it says it will. This is one of the only slim under seat subs on the market that is CEA compliant. Do not get fooled by other brands who write bogus power ratings that do not comply with any industry standard. Even if another unit says 2000 watts on it, ours is better and louder
This has amazing controls so you can tweak the sound to your liking. It has a level control for the volume and subsonic filter to filter out the really low frequencies that the human ear can not hear. This also has a low pass crossover filter, phase control, input sensitivity, and bass boost.
Included is a remote bass knob, and mounting hardware.
Rockville owns the exclusive mold we designed for this enclosure. Our designer made a modern design that we think everyone will love. Some of the other ones on the market just weren’t pleasing to the eye. We paid extra money and made the mounting feet extra strong and thick. Other models on the market by cheaper brands have flimsy feet that tend to break easily.
The best thing about our model is the sound. It is slim but it sounds like a full sized sub. Our engineers spent the last 2 years developing this model. We put a lot of hours into this!

Quality sound. Cheap price. Smart purchase.
It is not competition bass quality. Under $100 both sub and amp, and it will slide under or behind your seat. Well worth the money. My truck had zero bass and I needed an upgrade, but I have very limited space. 2024 Ford Ranger. Completely hidden and gives me great sound. Again, its not competition bass. To note, its been working great since summer 2023.

Won’t make your nose itch
I bought this specific subwoofer because it would fit underneath a seat in my Bayliner 175 boat. No, this sub will not make your nose itch but it adds some good bass to my boat which I didn’t have before and happy with my purchase so far. It wasn’t a terribly difficult install but with this being a boat, there were not a lot of cable routing options and that was the biggest challenge. I had purchased the Rockville RWK10 10 Gauge Amp Installation Kit separately but ended up having to run around town anyway because most of the wires in that kit were not long enough for my application (for a boat). I like the fact that the sub turns on and off with my head unit power. I’m glad I could find an under seat solution and just as happy with the added bass with a little thump.

Great little subwoofer
I installed this in my 2019 tacoma. It is too thick to go under the seat, but will fit behind the fold down back seat of my extra cab. It gives just enough bass for my tastes. (70s rock, 90s hip hop) If you want your vehicle to rattle, then this is not for you. Installation was super easy, and the remote level adjustment is super handy.

Decent sound in a small sub
Fits well under the passengers seat in a 2013 Toyota Corolla. I wanted to fit it under the driver’s side but the yaw sensor was in the way and I didn’t want to remount it. It’s a good balance between nice bass and I can still tune it down for when the child is in the car. I haven’t noticed any clipping or dropout. Installed super easy off a Kenwood deck. I’m not an audiophile but I am a musician and the clarity is quite good above 70-80 hz. The lower ends get a little muddy but the lpf works a treat if you’d rather clear sound than rumbles.

Do not buy from Rockville Audio!!!
Do not I repeat do NOT buy from Rockville Audio!!!!! I bought this subwoofer and got it installed professionally. It seemed to work from the start, but then a week later, my car battery starting dying. I have a newer car so I didn’t think it was my battery that was bad. I thought it was nothing until my battery started dying every time I would go into my car to drive somewhere. I thought it might be the subwoofer so I took my car back to where I got the subwoofer installed. They tested the subwoofer and they found out it was defective and that’s why my car battery was dying. I had to pay to get the subwoofer uninstalled and then pay for shipping to send it back to Rockville. I also had to pay $400 for a new car battery because of their faulty product. I told them I just wanted to return the subwoofer since I originally wanted the 10” but it wasn’t in stock until I went to return the 8”. I even wrote a note inside the box when I shipped back the subwoofer stating I didn’t want them to repair this broken product and I just wanted to return it. A few weeks later, I got the subwoofer back STILL BROKEN and called customer service explaining everything and how I just wanted my money back since I bought the 10” Rockville subwoofer and that is what I wanted in the beginning. Also, since they claim they have a 1 year warranty on all their products I didn’t think there would be any issues. Jake and Gayle in their customer service were so rude and denied giving me my money, claiming the warranty didn’t work for my situation somehow. I spent hours on the phone with them and still didn’t get any help! All they said they could do was try and fix the broken product I had again. I am completely dissatisfied and not trusting companies “warranty’s” again. I will never be buying another Rockville product.

It’s not spl comp grade but for the price pretty good.
Got a good amount of bump for a single 8 inch. It’s not going to pull 170 dB but it’s got a good overall quality. So by the time you got a amp kit( 8 awg is the recommended one and as big as your going to get in ) you got say $150 in it.So if you bought a cheap amp +subwoofer +box , you’ll have more in everything than what you’ve got in this rockville. It’s got excellent build quality and easy to adjust Phillips turn screws.Very happy for the ten min I played with it before permanently installing it.

Great sound for the price
*3 MONTH UPDATE*The sub was great at first, but has begun cutting out randomly. It’s not going into protect mode, so I’m assuming maybe a voice coil wire is coming loose or something. It coincided with running the gain up pretty high, but I would think a powered sub should survive anywhere in its amp’s operating range. Reduced to 3 stars. You might have better luck at a lower gain setting and light use.I bought this sub with the intention of filling in the low end of my audio system in my 99 Suburban. I was really just looking for something that would allow me to tune the bass out of my door speakers in order for them to sound less muddy. I’m not an audiophile, but I do enjoy my music. This sub served my purpose well. So far it sounds great. It’s not a heavy hitter, but if you’re just looking to bring a little low end to a factory sound system that’s lacking, this is a good bet. It has high level and low level inputs which seems pretty common on these powered woofers. I’m using low level from my Pioneer double din. Time will tell, but for it’s size and slim profile it does great. Mounted it under my second row seats. The remote gain control is another nice feature.

Great sound enhancement and fantastic calue
Installed in a 2005 Chevy Colorado with a Sony xav-602BT face unit. The install was very simple (I watched a few online videos because I’ve never done it before) and it took about 1.5 hours. The sound was super crisp and clear with some pretty serious “thump”. It fit under the back seat just fine with another 2” or so to spare. Seriously, I am so impressed with the sound and for the price… 5 stars for me, I would buy again for sure. Rockville puts out a great value product.

Easy install behind the rear seat of a 2022 Ford Ranger. Great low notes and a good punch for the price.

Just understand what this will do and tailor your opinion appropriately. It’s not gonna give you deep, luscious bass. It can’t, it’s too small. That’s not worthy of a bad review on its own, that’s more your expectations. This gives just a little ectra think to a stock stereo. It can be over- driven and sound bad if you crank up all the knobs but if you go low-mid settings, it’ll be fine. The main issue I have is that this claims to not need the remote cable when using the high level inputs. Now, I don’t know if this is based on an aftermarket stereo, but I had no power until I jumped the remote cable to the power despite testing 12v to the terminals. Other than that, it does what it says. I haven’t used any others to compare the sound quality to but the build quality seems fine. Manual implies that it comes with cables and whatnot but it doesn’t.
