Great Value for a GLASS Pitcher Filter
Great GLASS pitcher – a MUST purchase for anyone who does not want to worry about microplastics reentering their filtered water! The silicone bottom comes off for easy clean-up, and the filter itself is super fast at filtering the water through! It’s the perfect capacity for 1 person who uses it to fill their large reusable bottles, and the reservoir stores enough water to not have to refill it every time you use it. Amazing purchase for a great price!

Tasty water, meh lid design
I usually enjoy tap water, but my city recently sent out a notice about potential lead contamination and suggested that we filter with an NSF-53 filter. Just a note that the NSF 372 standard in other versions of the product indicate the the pitcher is not made with lead (not that it will filter out lead). I know I could have just purchased the filters and used a different pitcher body, but I thought that the glass would be a little nicer. I’m not sure I made the right choice- the lid design on this one (The 7-Cup Waterdrop Glass Water Filter Pitcher) is not the best.The flap for refilling is theoretically a great idea- not having to remove the lid to refill is super convenient. However, it requires a decent amount of pressure to open, so if you’re holding it under the faucet there’s going to be some splashing before the flap opens. Meanwhile, this lid doesn’t have a cover over the spout so you’re just dripping tap water into the pitcher, which kind of defeats the purpose if your priority is safer drinking water and not just taste.I will say it was easy to set up- the flat shape and size of the filter is easier to soak than the cylinder ones from other brands. And the water does taste pretty good. The footprint is a little bigger than I’d like, but it does look good on the counter. And I suppose if it’s filtering out most of the lead that is “potentially” in my water right now it’s better than poisoning myself from the tap.

Flawed design keeps it from perfection
UPDATE:I have added an additional star to my rating. After my initial review, Waterdrop contacted me and sent a different dispenser to try. They did not ask me to change my review, but any company that is so proactive in trying to solve issues, deserves credit. The new dispenser functions perfectly. I would still prefer a pitcher but I have no complaints on the functionality of the dispenser. It holds much more water and allows me to keep my tumblers filled. I should also say my review is based on how the original pitcher served my particular needs. But kudos to Waterdrop customer service.Flawed design keeps it from perfection. It does the job in filtering water, but has some issues. I like the glass pitcher, but since the filter compartment is plastic, I don’t think it serves an effective purpose. The filter is so large, that it leaves little room for water volume. Fill up one large tumbler and you need to refill the pitcher. It’s also very heavy for the volume of water it holdsIt does have some positives. The water does taste better than from a Brita pitcher. I can’t give a half star, but consider this a 3 and a half. My search for a filtered pitcher continues.

Lovely clean tasting water, much better than its plastic counterparts. It’s obviously not in the same league as Zerowater or Berkefeld if you’re really serious about water purification, but is excellent for the price.
