INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- The door and window magnet should be installed at the closed position of the door/window
- The magnet part is installed on the movable door and window. The switch part is installed on the fixed door and window frame. The switch part and the magnet part should be aligned as much as possible.
- The door magnet should be away from the strong magnetic field interference source such as a transformer. Otherwise, the working characteristics of the door magnet will be changed and possible wrong actions.
- Magnetic Contact sensors can be added to an existing wired Alarm Systems.
- They are ideal for protecting doors, windows and patio doors and any opening device such as a drawer or cupboard for example.In the event of no contact the alarm will be activated immediately.Magnetic Contacts are perfect for use in situations where it is not suitable to fit PIR sensors, for example where there are pets or animals.

These magnetic switches will do the job they are designed to do. I wanted to use them as a limit switch to stop a motor on a Halloween prop. Unfortunately with this type of switch you can’t guarantee exactly how close the magnet must be before it activates the switch. If you’re using this switch for an alarm system, or to turn on a light when the door opens, it’s perfect. Well built and easy to use. Having both a Normally Open and Normally Closed option is an excellent feature.

These are as simple as you can get, but that’s what makes them so good. The terminals make it easy to hook it up to just about anything. I had no problems with using them with an Arduino. A really great feature is that it has NC and NO so you can get a positive signal in both conditions, or have different devices triggered for each case.

CONS: None.PROS: Use. Installation.Additional Thoughts: My video has a decent demonstration of these magnet switches. I plan on using them on gates for my chicken runs, connecting the switches to an ESP32 and Home Assistant. This way, I can be alerted if I leave a gate open or if a gate opens when I am not home. I like that these do not require batteries, but of course will require a wire ran to them, which is fine for me. Now I’m going to have to configure an ESP32 to be a gatekeeper to handle all the switches I want around the property. The video demonstrated the switch, while connected to the N.O., closed at between 1/2 to 5/8 inch, then opened around 3/4 inch.LovingTheRetiredLife
