Sleep mode doesn’t work as stated. I actually prefer it with a minor fix to save battery life.
I bought this bluetooth media button because I was tired of the rechargeable ones suddenly failing to hold a charge after about a year. I’d much rather slip in a new CR2032 battery when needed and know it’ll continue working like it did before the battery died.The remote works great, and the button have a nice “click” to them when pressed. No complaints about the functionality whatsoever. I use it separated from the holder and band, and stuck to the wall in my shower. It’s not under the direct flow of water, but splashes, steam, and wet soapy fingers haven’t been an issue.However, I did find one bug that’s both a blessing and a curse. The button claims that if it is idle for 30 seconds, it’ll go into to sleep mode. Pressing any key will wake it and it’ll reconnect automatically. Here’s what it actually does:1. When it connects via bluetooth, it remains connected as long as the phone is in range and does not sleep at all.2. Once the remote loses the connection, it will go into sleep mode after 30 seconds.Since I’m retired and don’t leave the house often, the button remains connected to my phone for days at a time. This will certainly drain the battery faster. Probably a lot faster. How much faster? I don’t know, but you will have to change it more often. With that said, there’s nothing wrong with leaving it connected. It won’t hurt anything. Just expect shorter battery life.I actually like that it remains connected. Nearly all of the buttons sleep after 30 seconds so every time you go to use it, you have to press whatever key you need once to wake it, wait for it to reconnect, and then press that key again to get the result you want. It’s nice to have it continuously connected so every key press works every time you need it.But what about the battery drain? Here’s how I manage it:1. When I’m done using the button, I turn off bluetooth on my phone, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.2. Turning off bluetooth drops the connection. Waiting 30 seconds allows the button to sleep.3. Once the button sleeps, it will not reconnect until one of the keys are pressed.4. NOTE: You have to wait 30 seconds. If you turn Bluetooth back on before 30 seconds has past, the button, having not gone into sleep mode, will immediately reconnect and remain connected until the phone goes out of range.This might actually be worse if you use the button in the car or on a bike. If you connect in the car or on a ride and then park the car or bike in an attached garage, it might never go out of range. At least mine will go out of range whenever I leave the house.Personally, it’s worth the hassle to not have it constantly needing to reconnect every time I need to skip some commercials. All of these buttons sleep. Everyone I’ve used will sleep when connected after a period of time of no key press and disconnect. The time varies. I’ve seen one that claims it’ll sleep after 5 minutes. That’s rare, but definitely better. That one was rechargeable, and I’m not going down that road again.I’m fine with it and actually prefer it, but it’s something to be aware of and consider before deciding to purchase. Aside from that, everything else about the button is great. 5 stars because I can’t dock the rating for a bug/feature I actually prefer.

Almost perfect for adventure bike
Just perfect. I have an adventure motorcycle with a Chigee GPS which uses Apple CarPlay paired with my iPhone. Despite the product description, the volume buttons DO work with my Chigee unit, which is important because you cannot otherwise adjust volume through CarPlay. The big buttons are a step up from my previous Bluetooth button setup. The face of the unit can be rotated to align properly with my handlebars.The only nit is that the button is offset from the handlebar due to the mount’s design. In some respects this is nice. But the main drawback is that pushing the button on the far side (for me, volume up) pushes the unit away, making it rotate. So I have to use two fingers to volume up (with the second behind the button to prevent rotation). This despite putting a rubber sleeve underneath it and tightening the strap as much as I could.

Design retention falls short.
Everything feels great on this remote … EXCEPT the band attachment for the handlebar mounting. There is no real retention. The battery life and sleep mode works well, the illumination is very nice and helpful. The color is bright and vibrant. The click and feel of the buttons are great quality, it connects quickly and the phone is very responsive. The volume controls , tracks, Siri, and pause or play works flawlessly. Great option to control on the motorcycle without headset or hands free headphones. I’d give it a 10/5 stars if it had a better retention. But the little nubs just fall short. It’s one bump away from falling off the hooks and allowing it to come off the handlebars.

Excelente. Solo un detalle. Que no afecta su funcionamiento, pero igual se podría toman en cuenta. Lo enlazo con un dispositivo android, hacia una pantalla clarion que tiene el carplay Bluetooth de OTTOCAST. Sinelazas el control y la interfaz de ottocas está activa. El control de volumen no va a funcionar. Tendrás que hacerlo desde la pantalla. Si solo está enlazado mediante Bluetooth todo funciona correctamente. Excelente producto. Estoy muy conforme con la compra. Muy recomendable.
