Child had high fever so ordered two units in overnight. They work instantly and accurately so the family knew how the toddler was recovering. Easy to use and instant. Great unit!

Accurate, quick and versatile thermometer!
Accurate and fast and convenient. Works great not only for measuring body temperature, but also for foods, surfaces like doors and building surfaces if you are looking for hot spots or areas that lack insulation.Our grandchild wasn’t feeling well and squirming around, but this thermometer was able to take her temperature quickly every time with no fussing and with one hand. Display is very easy to read even without our reading glasses.

Not accurate, returned.
I returned this item because, despite following the directions 100%, I continuously received inaccurate readings (I mean, I even measured the distance etc to make sure I was doing it right 😂). I compared the readings from this thermometer to a regular under the tongue thermometer and it was often off by 2-3 degrees. Instead of being 104.2, my son was actually 102.5. That’s a huge difference and not acceptable.

Almost perfect 🙃 light at lower temperatures
At 35.7°C (96.26°F) after reading the temperature the light will immediately turn OFF, at 1st I thought it’s broken because it’s difficult to see the numbers if there is no light. However if the temperature is 35.8°C (96.44°F) the light will stay and it is bright.I only wish for this to have a light settings to control even the temperature is lower than normal, it’s difficult to record manually if the light is off because of low temperature readings.Build quality is awesome, speed of 2 seconds is ok, the weight is light, value for money is ok if you want options to know which is much better the budget friendly or the high-end one, and functionality: lighting needs some improvement, because I use this everyday to record temperature of the adults and elderly in the home for the age and will donate this device to them after my volunteer work for them.

Not great to check toddler temp
The build quality isn’t the problem, it’s the inaccuracy. I tried using this on my toddler, and it gave me five different readings each time. For accuracy, I’d stick to a regular thermometer. I’m not sure if this is more reliable for cooking, but in my case, every degree matters.
