Determine desks length
Before installing the gaming lights, Please compare the rope light to the desk edges and determine the final length you want.
Cut on the specific cut point
Find the cuttable position that is closest to and does not surpass the end. Carefully cut along the indicator line with scissors.
Put the end cap
Put the end cap onto the end of the rope light. Power on and check if it lights up.
Note: L-shape gaming desks
Desks with an internal angle, which you can stick the internal angle cover to the corner. Firmly press it for 10s to fit snugly into the corner
Can this be used with Razer Synapse 3?
Yes, it can. Not all Govee lights work with Razer Synapse 3, but the neon lights do. You’ll need to install the Govee Desktop App and Razer Synapse 3 to control the lighting effects.
Can this gaming light be cut and shortened?
Yes, the gaming light is cuttable. You are allowed to cut the light strip on the specific cutting point at the tail, then put the end cap onto the rope light to power. You can also calibrate the length of the light when you connect it to our app.
Can this gaming light be extended to length?
No, the gaming light does not support extensions. They can’t be joined physically, but can be lengthened virtually via Govee Home App, which can control several gaming light strips simultaneously.
How do I install the neon light around the corners of the gaming desk?
The upgraded adhesive is durable and long-lasting, allowing the strip to be installed in the corners of the desk. Press for 10s after installation to fit around the desk. If the corners of the desk are 90°, you can use the internal angle cover.
What is the size of the strip itself?
The length of the gaming neon light is 10ft (3m), the width is 15 mm, and the thickness is 9.5mm.The length of the cable is 5.9ft (1.8m).

Affordable, Better and Smarter Alternative to Secretlab’s Desk Light
Word to the wise as I had to take a risk making my own magnetic desk light solution versus Secretlab’s Nanoleaf version:I’m really happy with how this desk light setup turned out. I used a strip of magnetic tape and stuck it adhesive-to-adhesive with the Govee light bar, and it worked perfectly. The magnet lets me mount it cleanly to my desk frame inside where the cables are held, and it feels just as secure and functional as the more expensive branded option. I originally looked at the Secretlab Nanoleaf desk light, but this solution was far cheaper, easier to customize, and I didn’t have to deal with their customer support. The light quality is great (look at the picture for how radiant the glow is on the wall with the lid shut) the install was quick, and I actually like that I can move or reposition it anytime without fuss. For the price and flexibility, this is a smart alternative that gets the job done just as well, if not better, than the premium desk lighting kits.Note that the length of this desk light is about 10ft. There are magnetic tape products sold on Amazon that are also 10ft. Make sure the width of that tape is .6 inches as that is the width of the Govee lights (actually it’s .59 inches but hey this doesn’t actually make a difference). This to ensure you get proper coverage with the tape. When I used the tape it worked very well and stuck to the side of the Secretlab cable holder without any issue. It is more vibrant, better customizable and most importantly I didn’t have to gamble with the garbage customer service from Secretlab.Also, second note, realize that the Nanoleaf version from Secretlab is known to fail and doesn’t connect well with their app. Govee setup on their app was VERY easy and seamless. You can remote control it on your app on your phone or via desktop. So far, it seems durable and is holding up. Between this Govee desk light and magnetic tape it cost me about $80. You can even get this desk light for even cheaper during major sales ($60 or so). Secretlab is WORSE and the Nanoleaf desk light costs $100 with subpar customer service.

I’m a huge Govee Fan, I own too many sets of lights – just about everything….and I love them all equally. These were a fun surprise. I purchased them to place around the edge of my new desk and I absolutely love it. They shine so bright and paired up with my Alexa, I love how easy it is to use voice commands to turn them on and off. The App is easy to use and you can change up the colors, very easily. Govee RGBIC Gaming Neon Rope 10 ft. H61C3
The adhesive is so strong, that I ended up having to buy another 10 foot LED neon rope light strip. I initially bought a 55″ desk that didn’t fit my needs, however the problem was that I had already installed the neon rope strip on it, and it wouldn’t come off without completely taking off the adhesive, or damaging the desk. So I bought another one. This one fit my 63″ desk perfectly, without the need for cutting any off. Which if you need to make adjustments, there are cutting lines alongside the back of the light strip. The width is exactly that of my desk so it rests perfectly on the edges. When I rest my elbows on it, it feels like an extension of the desk itself. It does get a little warm to the touch after extended periods of times, but it will not burn you. You will certainly feel when it’s on. And you will see it too, as this light strip does get pretty bright. When the lights are off in the house, it illuminates the other half of the house including the kitchen where my desk is situated. The lights can be customized in the Govee Home app. You can find it during initial setup by selecting the “+” in the Device tab. It will find the light strip right away, and walk you through the setting up process. I have it — along with the Sync Box kit — combined in a DreamView so now both the light strip and the Sync Box will change and alter depending on what it happening onscreen. This paired with the Music Sync Box (H1162) can make for a pretty amazing light show. Just add music. This is a great product. It is malleable and easily conforms to even the sharpest of corners. Minimal planning required. Govee continues to outdo itself. And the products often have sales or coupons associated with them. Definitely pick it up!

Finally a light strip that stays on!
Finally found a light strip that looks amazing and more importantly actually stays on! Every other light strip I had would always eventually fall off with a matter of weeks it seemed. This one has stayed on for months so far and is showing no signs of budging 🙂 It looks amazing and has plenty of modes and colors to choose from. It’s worth every penny.

This particular strip sticks incredibly well to the edge of your desk and goes around a 90° corner with no problem even comes with one or two rounded pieces for inside corners and are so customizable it’s mind-boggling yet simple. You can control them manually through the app, using your voice through Alexa, or simply set up timers, or even motion devices if you want to invest in them. I could go on all day about the durability, incredible packing and Customer Service, fantastic app although oddly I’ve heard people complain about it for some reason having too many features, still trying to figure that one out. They can go ridiculously bright or quite dim. i’m getting bored now lol I can go on all day with them. Just buy them you won’t be disappointed, trust me you’ll love them. Just wait for them to go on sale, they’re almost always on for at least 30% off.. They are sold and shipped by Govee who only charges GST 😉, so they will back you up if you ever need support, actually get points from Govee every time you activate or plug-in any new device from them and you can use those points for discounts towards new purchases, I’ve got $800 in credits lol. Their outdoor lighting systems are insanely cool. No I don’t work for Govee, lol just a fan.. haha

The Perfect set of lights for your desk!With the new technology called (RGBIC) by Govee, their RGB products are even brighter; they’ve always made amazing RGB products. During the night, these lights really shine brightly when I turn them on. With the amount of scenes they have you’ll never run out of scenes to choose from.I appreciate the fact that this is integrated with Alexa. It is very convenient to be able to change the lights without having to constantly go on my phone to the app. When their old lights were in use, I had to do that all the time. Now, I can say “Alexa, change lights to Cool White”.Overall, The setup was a breeze, took less than five minutes. They provide wet wipes to clean the edges of your desk before applying them. If you’re looking into buying a new set of lights, these are the way to go! These get bright and vibrant.
