    Not long lasting
    Worked with alex great however did not last long. 6 months had to by 2nd one. 6months later that one failed also. Maybe buy another if price goes back down. Not worth the price to replace again for 3rd time. Shame because really enjoyed them while they last.

    Have bought 2 units both have died, the 2nd after only 7 months. AVOID
    The good: after using other coffee makers that tried to leverage Alexa and failed, it’s nice to find one that works consistently. Although it’s awkward having to “arm” the Alexa skill by pressing a button on the machine for it to work.The so so: the coffee is fine although as others have mentioned I can’t tell the difference in brew strengths using the button.Needs improvement: whenever I pour a cup from the carafe, it drips coffee on the counter. Can’t seem to avoid this. Also, it’s difficult to put the carafe back into the unit. And as others have mentioned, the coffee is hot, especially after I have the first cup and the coffee sits on the burner for awhile. To hot to drink a second cup immediately.Overall a decent unit and performs the most important function for me: the Alexa skill commands to turn on the coffee maker and make a pot in the morning. Also, unlike my more expensive coffee makers, this one has no trouble re-connecting to my wifi network if the power goes off and comes back on.EDIT: Bought 11/21 and it lasted until 8/24 when it suddenly stopped working. The digital control panel started to randomly blink and flicker. It wouldn’t turn on via Alexa or by manual start. Unplugging and re-plugging didn’t help. Almost 3 years? Is that a good run for a coffee maker or planned obsolescence or what?EDIT: Bought another one (I know, silly me) on 8/29/24 because nothing else had the Alexa functionality that I wanted. Had hoped the first one was a lemon but at least I got multiple years out of it. Well the second one just died today after only 7 months of use. It told me it needed cleaning, so I followed the care & cleaning instructions in the manual exactly. During this process of running 2-3 more brew cycles as directed, the unit died. It no longer turns on, the display no longer lights up, when plugged in. Despite the Alexa functionality being great, this thing just does not last. Take it from someone who tried the unit twice. STAY AWAY

    Umn! Just okay
    Okay I have had to have a couple of these units. First of all the one I originally got from Amazon had leaked from the bottom and clean water not coffee. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired since the only way to contact them is either by filling out a form on their website or by sending them an email. They don’t give any reason for not having a live customer service phone number with staff to answer your questions in real time. But, I figure they like a lot of other companies are probably using kovid as a crutch. That being said. I was able to get a replacement unit to replace the one that was leaking. Not to long ago I had experienced a issue where the front display stopped working and only the power light would turn on. I don’t think I would recommend this product unless you are okay with a company that doesn’t have as good of customer service. All of the negative stuff aside the machine while it was working as expected did brew a very nice cup of coffee and was easy to set up. Although I didn’t care to much for how you had to scan a qr code to get it to work with your alexa.

    Prone to electronics failure
    As a coffee maker it is as good as any other 12 cup maker. Hot water is dripped through your ground coffee. What could go wrong? It does the job. I like the front-filling reservoir. The carafe doesn’t drip when I pour. The hotplate keeps the coffee hot, and turns off automatically (2 hours) so that I don’t have to remember.But, I bought this for the Alexa integration. After using it for 19 months I can’t imagine life without it. In addition to starting the brew from bed I have Alexa Routines which will start the brewing when I pass by a point on my morning walk which is 15 minutes from home. It all works splendidly (particularly if you use an app such as GPS Keeper Pro which keeps the GPS function on your phone running).An earlier version of my review (December 2020) bemoaned the fact that there were few useful interactions with Alexa. I think there has been a software update because now (July 2022) there are many more – such as querying the machine’s status, finding out when the last brew cycle started, and turning off the machine brewing or hotplate.BUTAfter 19 months my first machine died. Over the course of a few hours my display dimmed, flickered, and the machine then lost WiFi connection and it entered a boot loop which could never complete booting. I made a warranty claim (under my credit card’s extra 12 month warranty benefit) and bought another.I suspected a faulty low-voltage power supply and opened the machine up. The power board didn’t have any obvious injury (no swollen capacitors – the usual thing which are easy to replace) but was only providing 0.8V instead of the 3.3V indicated in the board’s silk screen printing. We had a thunder storm the night before so perhaps there had been a power surge – certainly the board did not have any surge suppression which is customary nowadays.Anyway, my new machine is now behind a 1800 Joule surge suppressor and I hope that will protect the machine longer than the next 19 months. The machine is so indispensable though I will likely get a third if this one dies. (Or maybe a competitor if there is a main brand alternative).Frank

    It worked great the first few months. I have had it for just over two years and it has stopped turning on and is no good anymore. Plus the coffee started tasting bad no matter how often I cleaned it or what brand of coffee I used. The warranty is only for 1ura after purchase. I am disappointed in the quality of this coffee maker

    I bought this Alexa cofee maker on Dec.31st /2020.Just a little over 3 months ago.Initially i gave it a great review! but! a few days ago the display started fading in and out and then went black.That was it! It quit working for good.So i contacted Amazon and unfortunately the deadline for returning this product was Feb.15th and i was told i would have to contact Hamilton Beach which i did.All i got was an automated message saying i would have to go to their website for warranty issues.So i did and ended up communicating with one of their online chatbots.I explained the problem to the chatbot but then referred me to some online Tech website called Answer.com.I texted with one of their online tech’s and he did some research on this coffee maker.It turns out that i am not alone as their have been numerous complaints about this coffee maker with the motherboard burning out.Most complaints like mine is where this coffee maker only lasting days to just a few months if one is lucky.The online tech guy said i could take it in to a repair shop but it would probably just sit there because the motherboards are hard to get.Okay it is not worth bringing it into a repair shop.If this is a common defect with this coffee maker then Hamilton Beach should recall them and just fix the issue or give people their money back! Amazon is a great company.I do a lot of shopping with them.I understand there is a limited time to return items but stop endorsing this piece of garbage as an Amazon choice product knowing that this product has this issue!
