Work perfectly w/ home automation system
Bought these, as opposed to cheaper, smaller, plastic ones, as they had good reviews, appeared to be fairly heavy-duty, and yet were basic switches I needed for my dry-contact firmware for a home automation device (RATGDO for anyone counting). They are significantly larger than the small plastic ones, but since I’ve had them installed (maybe ~ a year now) they are rock-solid and just plain work. Love the wrapped metal cabling at the end, which makes me feel they are more durable (and they probably are), and I mounted them with 3M double-sided tape, to the aluminum rail and framing of my garage door.

More clarity is needed of NC vs NO when magnet is near contacts
I used this product to replace an older set of alarmed garage door magnetic contacts that were of much lesser quality and had failed…I was concerned about the strength of any replacements until I found this product online. I must say, I am very pleased with its quality, ease of installation and performance. I highly recommend it. It can be purchased in a NC (normally closed by the magnet) or NO (normally open by the magnet) depending on customer need.

Garage Door Sensors
I have six of these industrial grade garage door sensors in use and have had great luck with the reliability. You don’t have to mount them on the floor to work, they also work great at the top of the door.

Heavy Duty, large operational gap.
The sensor, mount, cable, wire, and hardware all feel durable and high quality. One thing to emphasize is the >2 inch (>50 mm) operational gap. What that means is the sensor and gate will show as “Closed” unless they’re separated by more than 2 inches; you have to separate the sensor and gate by more than 2 inches to show as “Open.”Depending on your use case, 2 inches is a LARGE gap. For example, 2 inches means someone could slightly open a door and fit his/her entire hand through – and the sensor would still think the door is closed.I used a 21/64 inch (8.3mm) drill bit to open a hole in an enclosure for the armored cable. A smaller bit, like 5/16 (7.9mm) is too small for the armored cable.

These work great for my Zooz Zen17
I got this to use with the Zooz Zen17 to connect to hubitat to replace the MyQ integration that kept failing once or twice a year. I connected these to the Zen17, and I JB Welded them to my garage floor (not sure I’ll ever be able to get them off, but whatever). They work great! Exactly as described. Reports the garage doors open and closed perfectly.

Good product. Just as described.

Product worked fine.
Satisfied with sensor for garage door. Original sensor must have been defective and was old. Alarm would go off after leaving house.

I ordered this to replace the plastic sensor that came with my Wi-Fi garage door module, and it’s a huge improvement. The rounded plate allows the door to slide off in case of accidental contact, preventing damage, and the stronger magnet provides a much larger detection range. This let me mount it higher on the door, avoiding unnecessary contact while still accurately sensing the door’s status.Installation was quick and simple—just two wires to connect, making it highly versatile and compatible with many systems. No drilling required, and the only tools needed were a screwdriver (or impact driver) and wire cutters to strip and trim the wires. I used heat shrink for a secure connection, but electrical tape or wire nuts would also work.So far, I haven’t had any false readings, and the larger magnetic field makes it much more reliable than the original sensor. It also feels far more durable than the cheap plastic ones I’ve used before. While those were about half the price, I’ve already gone through two of them due to breakage—this one seems built to last. Definitely worth the investment, and I wish I had bought it in the first place!

Rubbish! Cast switch housing too thin at mounting points. Both broke with ease on installation.
