Did the trick
Does what I wanted, had a thermostat in a hallway that wasn’t same temperature as the bedrooms and couldn’t maintain the temperature in the bedrooms. This solved the problem.

The Best Smart Thermostat I’ve Seen
I love this! The installation was very well documented, with pictures and detailed instructions. And it was also quite simple. Once running, there is brief on-screen tutorial to get one familiar with the interface, which is quite easy to navigate. Through Matter, it connected to Home Assistant in a few seconds. It exposes all of its data and controls locally, which is important to me. It can be monitored and controlled by Home Assistant without an Internet connection. All that, and it’s beautiful, in my opinion, at least!

Great addition to the house
I’ve been using a pretty basic digital thermostat for a while now, but ever since I’ve added a Home Assistant server and tons of smart lights to the house I’ve been wanting to try one of these. So far I’ve been really loving the change, as has my wallet. The ability to manage this from outside the home has been a huge change as I can set routines from home assistant to turn everything down super low when no one is home and have it automatically return back to normal routines once someone is home.In terms of install and setup this was honestly easier than the old digital thermostat. I did have to run a new wire from the furnace to the thermostat, but the directions included with this made it all super easy to understand despite not having run new thermostat leads prior to this install. Once it was powered on the initial boot walks you through connecting it and setting initial parameters and from there it’s all super easy. Had routines and everything setup quickly and easily in Home Assistant. Took about an hour from start to finish. These are pretty pricey up front, but the money saved from being able to finely tune routines means that it pays for itself very quickly. The efficient difference is pretty remarkable and really becomes noticeable right around month 2 of ownership.

Pay attention to your current wiring for compatibility
The Lux TQX Smart Thermostat for Home seems to be a very powerful and effective way to replace your current thermostat to maximize the temperature control in your home. However, the five wire installation and wire splitter install is complicated. This system requires a furnace side installation as well as a wall mount set up in your home to replace your current thermostat. The furnace installation has a five wire connector going to a power bridge system that Lux included in the shipment of materials. The thermostat replacement for a conventional system as a 5 to 4 replacement diagram and the splitter set up might not work with a traditional wiring install for your current thermostat. This seems to be a very good thermostat, however it did not work for my home.

Not worth it if you are actually using your money and its not free through vine to review!!
This is a review from someone that actually paid for it. Its a nice looking and if worked a feature rich smart thermostat. Its just nit smart enough. It constantly fails at keeping a solid avg tempature for house. It constantly reads low or high, like if its 60 in house and the heat kicks on, it gets tob80 before the thermostat sees a temp above 67.It doesnt work in auto mode, if its 80 in the gouse and ac is set to 72, it just does nothing. But as soon as you manually switch mode to ac its like oh yeah its 80 degrees in here Let me kick on.I’ve at an hvac team out here twice now to verify hardware and install. Thermostat is onky failure point with its inaccuracy and failure to proper read room tempature along with failure to automatically use heat or ac function. Its a very pretty dumb thermostat. It will be going back and ill go with a more known brand like honeywell.

Easy to install, easy to use
Installation for this was easier than I thought it might be. It worked immediately the first time it was connected. Although I have a C wire, it’s awesome that they provide options if you don’t have one. Since I didn’t need them, I’m not certain how difficult it is for the alternative, but at least they offer it. I’m not super tech savvy, but the interface is easy to use. It has a lot of different options which I won’t use like sensors. It appears to work exactly as intended, but like I said, I’m not very tech savvy and I’m not using a lot of the extra features. I use a basic schedule with it (which is easy to set) and that’s about all. However, it beats the heck out of the old thermostat from the 80’s that was in the house and it looks very nice and much more updated. I think the value is pretty good given how simple the whole thing is and yet it can be highly technical if you need it to be. Great for us as we’ll have our house for a few more years and then we’ll be moving, so this provides an updated option for the buyers. My review is for: Lux TQX Smart Thermostat for Home, Programmable WiFi with Matter Protocol, Occupancy Sensing, Includes 1 Remote Sensor – Works with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home (TQX Smart Thermostat-Black)

The C wire is absolutely required by Lux TQX
The most important point is that the C wire is absolutely required! The vendor should have made this clear! There are several “workarounds”. If you are lucky, use an existing wire to make it a C wire. It’s necessary to rewire at the furnace control board. Small effort once you figure it out. Otherwise, you have to use the included power bridge.Lux mobile app doesn’t support the TQX model. Apple Home can only support VERY basic features to set and display temperature. It can’t display remote sensor temperatures and can’t schedule the thermostat either. So basically, you have to do it at the thermostat!
