    Excellent quality! Works very well.
This video has four major things going for it: it’s non-subscription, it’s easy to set up, has a lot of features, and works beautifully. The same can’t be said for the two previous units I had that were unreliable, hard to set up, and lacked intelligible instructions. Also, Reolink’s customer service is the fastest and most helpful of any I have ever dealt with.

    Solid Doorbell Camera
Works as it should. Mounted on wall sideways 90 deg. looking across the door – image and view are just fine due to the fish eye type lens. Things I like 1) that it uses my old push button power and rings my old chime 2) doesn’t require a subscription 3) the app and notifications are good. Only complaint I wish it could suppress the notifications when I’m home via geofencing or something.

    Good video poor feature implementation
The camera has good resolution, works well as a doorbell both at night and during the day.Package detection works. I also like the fact that there is no subscription.Ok what does not:The car detection triggers and shows you video after the car is 1/2 way down the street. Or it triggers on a person right when they’re pressing the door bell.I have had the wifi feature disconnected constantly. I have a WiFi booster right next to the door. I have also made sure the camera is on the booster.I have the hub but its WiFi is so weak it can’t reach the camera.Reolink software is not the best.Connecting the external door bell chimes was a super frustrating experience. It was supposed to be super easy. But the chimes came tied to a factory doorbell. I had to reset the chimes and then pair them with the doorbell. I had to search on line what the issue was.I’m not impressed with this camera. Is a battery camera but I’m powering it with my door bell button wires. It never really worked with the existing chime. I had to get there chimes to get the system working.Even then I had to the auto nation to to get them to ring.

Not Terrible? Best Non Cloud Video Doorbell? Sorta
I’m on the fence about this review. The first camera had a battery management controller failure. It completely locked up after discharging. I managed to reset it, but it was never able to fully charge after that failure. Thankfully it failed in the first 24 hours and Amazon return policy is slick. Grok indicated this was a common failure mode. The features are good enough. It has detection, alerting and a good camera with no crazy subscription. The existing chime configuration is odd because it requires selecting the physical chime and enabling it after completing the setup wizard. I also paired a wireless chime to ensure I can hear it upstairs. My main gripe is the lack of standard protocols. I had hoped to easily use third party apps just like their POE Camera. Nope! You have to use a Reolink gateway project to access the camera via their proprietary protocol and for two way support it requires building your own release from a commit that was accepted months ago. Not really third party friendly and I’ll wager they may pull the rug out with hub services later. Within their App ecosystem it does work and I haven’t had a missed alert yet.

Best doorbell cam for the money
Great camera, exactly what we were looking for. It is battery powered, but not with replaceable batteries. It charges using usb-c. Works great, has a wide view from the camera lense.

Not Bad… All the Doorbell models have some kind of sacrifice or another
Very much tried to live with this doorbell but in the end we moved it to the back-door where there is far less traffic. Battery life has been better than I expected based on many reviews here, but the detection is slow, the recordings laggy, and just connecting to the live view often fails or takes several tries for camera to connect. More, this is all via the Home Hub.My hope was to connect this to solar and the original doorbell wiring as well so as to be able to use the old mechanical chime in conjunction with the Reolink chime and HomeHub chime. However the doorbell just makes too many sacrifices in the wrong areas. Odd that other Reolink cameras can operate via solor power feed without much issue. I eventually reverted to the regular Reolink Wi-Fi doorbell which we’d have powered via AC at the back-door. It operates MUCH more responsively at the frontdoor connected to the 18v doorbell wiring BUT it canNOT ring the mechanical chime. That’s bothersome but in the end I took that trade. Honestly not totally happy with either of them, but they’ll suffice and its better than subscription.

It Sees All and Tells All
This REOLINK doorbell is an absolute tank. The 150°x150° head-to-toe view? It’s so good, I’m pretty sure it can see the disappointment in my soul when the delivery driver drops off junk mail instead of a package. The best part is definitely the no subscription needed! It’s nice to have a camera that doesn’t want to get into a long-term financial relationship with me. Installation was easy—just remember that if you got the wired version, the “few days to fully charge” isn’t a suggestion; it’s a silent, non-negotiable staring contest with your power outlet. Now, for the fun part: the fine-tuning. Get ready to spend a delightful weekend teaching your camera the difference between an actual intruder and a rogue tumbleweed, or a falling leaf. You will receive many, many notifications. Your phone will vibrate so much, you’ll think you’re living inside a pinball machine. But once you’ve successfully tamed the notification beast, this camera is great. You can truly see all, from the top of the mailman’s hat to the state of their shoes. Just charge it up, set aside some time for the notification therapy, and enjoy your new, vigilant electronic sentry. Highly recommend!

Brilliant bit of kit. We first bought a similar Eufy doorbell and were intensely disappointed with the poor battery life, poor app with limited zoning features, and either constant false motion notifications or failure to detect relevant events. We chose to return the Eufy doorbell and try this Reolink one and it’s now like night and day.The Reolink doorbell has been consistently good. No more false alarms, better detection, better picture quality, better battery life (ours has been in use for almost a month and still has over 50% battery on a single charge!), and a much more intuitive and customisable app as well. The only downside is that you will need to purchase a separate chime for the doorbell if you don’t already have a compatible one, which will increase the overall price, but I’d say the quality you get is absolutely worth it.

  10. Talal

One of the best doorbell with features never seen in other doorbells but…But there is a problem which i am discussing with Reolink is that this new 2k doorbell the below don’t work which maybe a new firmware needed of a but with the current application need to be updated.1. Says format successfull but SD Card still not formated.2. Album shows empty so you can not delete unwanted captures.3. Wide view doesn’t work it flips but picture still small n not Wide. The rest is 100% perfect 👌 and the best of that u can limit the detection area so card and people passing far are not detected, the detection will tell if it’s a person or a car.I may return this product becuse Amazon seems they couldn’t fix my problem because the DoorBell was from Germany

  11. “timc3”

Good: No cloud subscription, works with existing chimes, easy to install, camera is of adequate quality. Seems to drip charge off the existing wiring. Supports a wide range of voltages from the wiring.Bad: Really needs better API and integration possibilities (for example to work with Home Assistant, or Apple HomeKit – to do that you need the Reolink hub). Notifications seem really hit and miss, sometimes we get them, sometimes we don’t, sometimes we get too many – at least the doorbell always works. App is the usual badly developed poor UX from China nonsense. It’s a little too easy to remove.

  12. Konrad

This product delivers exactly as advertised, and even exceeds expectations in some areas. For me, the standout feature is the exceptional battery life. It lasts so long that I honestly can’t remember the last time I charged it—easily two months or more between full charges. That’s a huge improvement over my previous device from a well-known brand, which required much more frequent charging. Overall, I’m very impressed.
