Full-Featured Remote to Control all of your devices
Overall I’m quite impressed by the SofaBaton X2. It’s is a game changer and fun to use! In fact, once I set it up and my spouse tried it, she remarked “We finally have a remote that actually works” – and I agree. Set up was straight forward and took about 15 minutes to setup the hub and remote via the SofaBaton App. Make sure the remote itself is fully charged before starting the setup. Also make sure you download any firmware updates prior to adding devices or activities. The remote design itself seems high quality, not made of cheap plastic. The LCD screen is bright, easy to read, and colorful. Adding devices to the X2 was quite easy. The database had all 7 of my devices in it: (Sony TV, Jamo Soundbar, Philips Amp, Samsung DVD player, AppleTV, J-Tech Optical Switch Box and Roku).Adding 6 Activities was a breeze and only took about 15 mins. I added WatchTV, Watch AppleTV, Watch TV with Surround Sound, Watch DVD, etc). The remote allows you to switch between activities by sliding the respective button (kind of like how you shut off an iPhone). This helps avoid switching activities inadvertently on the touch-screen.The App allows customization for power-up startup and shutdown sequences. In my case I had to add a bit of delay before my Sony would reliably switch HDMI ports from TV to AppleTV. I mainly used the provided Hub for emitting the IR, but this can be customized for each device. The Roku for example was controllable via WiFi.I added my favorite channels by creating macros to submit the digits. Therefore, I could do a single button press to change between my favorite channels. The macros (favorite channels) appear right on the display so it’s very easy to use.Another great addition to the X2 was a full LCD numeric pad so I can type in channel numbers directly! Battery life of the remote seems good thus far. It’s a great Logitech Harmony replacement!

I’ve been using the Sofabaton X2 to replace multiple remotes in my living room, and overall it’s been a very solid experience.Setup was straightforward using the mobile app, and pairing my TV, soundbar, streaming devices, and other components went smoothly. The device database is extensive, and I was able to get everything working without needing to manually program commands. The activity-based controls make switching between devices easy and intuitive.The remote itself feels well built and comfortable to hold. The buttons are responsive, and the screen is clear and easy to navigate. I also like having both physical buttons and app-based control, which gives you flexibility depending on how you want to use it.One thing I appreciate is how responsive Sofabaton’s customer support has been. They’ve been helpful and communicative when I had questions, which goes a long way.If you’re looking for a universal remote to consolidate multiple devices without the high cost of some legacy options, the Sofabaton X2 is definitely worth considering. Looking forward to future updates and new models as well.

Finally a usable all in one
This is a good replacement for the Harmony and a major step up from the X1. I would have given it 5 stars, but updating from the X1 didn’t work as expected. I had to completely remove all the old devices and programming and reinstall the app to make it work

this product looks good but programmatically it is a mess.. i know the death of Harmony left a product gap. but this unit is far from even that unit.a few discoveries i found trying to integrate one into a two activity, two device system:very confusing work flowcode bases are weak/ incompleteproduct isn’t stable- misses syncing..lastly, their only support is chat.which is very impractical when u r onsite.u ask them a question, they send u a documentwhich doesnt address the question. or no examples to get thru following their document.anyway, i’d think twice about using it.i returned mine. went back to URC.

Good Results With X2
After about a week of use, I find the Sofabaton X2 to be a very impressive remote for controlling my modest home theater. My setup includes LG G4 television, Apple TV 4K, OPPO Blue Ray Player, PlayStation 5 console, Windows PC, and Denon AV Receiver. I am replacing a two-year-old X1S controller with a weak battery and a failing selection wheel.If you have previously set up a Sofabaton remote, you will find the procedure here very familiar. Using a phone app, you individually enter devices as well as their startup and shutdown commands. Devices are then grouped into activities in a straightforward manner. There is great flexibility in assigning controller physical buttons within each activity.I needed four or five hours for initial set up for basic activities using the phone app. I did find that some experimentation was necessary with the order of events called for in start up and shut down and with added delays between events. The app doesn’t always set things up in an order that your hardware will execute reliably. And delays between events are sometimes necessary to complete a string of commands. However, with some patience it is not difficult to find the right combinations. I have not yet programmed any macro commands or attempted integration with Home Assistant.My system is used heavily during most of the day, every day. Battery lasts 2 days between charges in this situation. The best approach for battery management is simply to store the control in its charging case every night.As others have noted, the X2 build quality is superb. It feels very substantial in the hand. It is noticeably thinner than the X1S. If you are accustomed to the X1S controller, the weight of the X2 will surprise you. The combination of weight and thinness allows it to disappear between your couch cushions without warning. Long term reliability is still an unknown, but the impressive build quality is a good indicator.Overall, the Sofabaton X2 is highly recommended.
