    A Leatherman for Everyman.
This thing cost about $12 when I bought it. Yes, the lock/release mechanism is weird and therefore slower to deploy (requiring two hands), but the locks are SOLID. It lacks a pocket clip but comes with a case you can use to strap it to your belt or kit. It is both larger and heavier than a Leatherman. IT COST $12!!!I have an old, Wal-Mart multitool I bought for my tacklebox years ago that had NO LOCK of any kind at all on any of the tools. That thing is just useful enough to cut a fishing line with the pitiful blade, and the pliers could be used to remove hooks with some difficulty. It sucked! The blade/tools moved all over the place and the pliers did NOT have a spring. I think I paid $15 for that at the time at Wal-Mart, which was more than my tacklebox/beer cooler. If you want something a little more refined than this, you could pay more for a Gerber or SOG- but even that’s still FAR from the beloved $150 Leatherman. Aren’t those also getting up into the $30-$60 range? Do they have pliers with springs? You could just use this and buy a new one if you were to lose it every month for a YEAR! That would cost the same as ONE Leatherman. Now, imagine losing the Leatherman or Gerber… that’d be annoying, right?I keep mine in a fantastic, admittedly pricier, leather tool-belt along with a few other things I use constantly, like an excellent Olight flashlight, a durable pen, a good folding knife, and it even has a place for your keys or something on a clip. I’ll write a review for that next. It’s pretty cool and just slides on and off your belt.If I was rich, I’d buy whatever Leatherman has all the same tools as this, was one-handed opening, but ALSO had spring-loaded-pliers. I just don’t need to. I’d rather put one of these tools in my desk, one in each vehicle, and carry one in my tool-belt. I could even get wild and replace that thing in my tacklebox. That would probably still be the price of one Gerber! It breaks: $12. You lose it: $12. It’s an impressive tool for the price. I don’t know. I’m not a handyman or contractor. I do a lot in IT and a lot of recording and gigging for music. I use this tool at least four times a day. It’s FINE for whatever I come across when I don’t have a specialized tool set with me.Maybe I’ll buy a Gerber or SOG to see if it’s worth it. But it would have to have the same tools and the spring-leaded pliers. I just don’t know if that’s worth the price difference. If I get a SOG or a Gerber, I’ll come back and update this review. But I’m pretty sure my Gerber dime was about $30 and that little thing is meant for a keychain, not for any real use.None of this is meant as a criticism of Gerber, SOG, Leatherman, or any other brand (except that thing I got from Wal-Mart). But if you’re like me and take a deep breath every time you gas up your truck, why not try to get your twelve dollar’s worth first? Even if you wind up not liking it and ultimately want to buy something more refined, just throw this in your glove-box. Someday you’ll be glad you have it. If it winds up in your tacklebox at least you’re not making a mess of your more expensive multi-tool.

Why spend a ton of money when this little multitool does so much?! Great tool and a great value.
This was a fantastic little multitool for the price! I had previously purchased a couple for my employees and my scouting niece loved this so much, I had to get her one too. It works really well! And, if you loose it or break it (it is pretty sturdy and seems well built), you wont cry too much like you would if you lost a high dollar multitool.

  3. Amazon Friendly

    Bad packaging
The tool itself is as described, decent for the cost. The issue I have is the packaging, for some reason the box was soaking wet and they put it in a bag. Not the postal service but Amazon. It was in a bag in a bigger box with other stuff. No clue what liquid spilled all over the crumbling box. The tools seem good still, laying out the pouches to dry. No mold smell yet.

No need to buy a more expensive product , the tool is great quality at a fair price
well worth the price, the “lock open” feature, is invaluable for safety reasons .

  5. Everyday Reviews

Compact, Rugged, and Handy for Just About Everything
Compact, Rugged, and Handy for Just About EverythingThis 14-in-1 multitool has quickly become a reliable piece of gear that I’ve been reaching for both around the house and when outdoors. The build feels solid, with the stainless steel construction giving it a reassuring weight without being too heavy to carry on hikes or keep clipped in a glove box. The included nylon sheath is surprisingly sturdy and makes it easy to keep the tool accessible on a belt or in a pack. The tool selection covers just about everything I’d want in a pinch—pliers with good grip, a knife that holds an edge, screwdrivers that actually fit standard screws, and even a bottle opener that comes in handy more often than you’d think. The locking mechanism on the tools is an especially nice touch; it adds a layer of safety and makes it feel much more professional than some of the looser, budget multitools I’ve tried.Using it feels practical and well thought out. The pliers have enough leverage for small repairs, the file isn’t just decorative, and the blades open smoothly without being flimsy. I also like that it’s compact enough to carry without bulk but still large enough to handle tasks comfortably.Things to keep in mind: like most multitools, this isn’t going to replace a full toolbox. The knife blade is sharp, but you wouldn’t want it as your only cutting tool on a week-long trip, and the screwdriver tips are better suited to quick fixes than heavy-duty projects. That said, for camping, survival gear, glove box emergencies, or even everyday carry, it checks all the boxes.Bottom line: A thoughtfully designed multitool with a sturdy build and smart safety lock—ideal for camping, hiking, and everyday fixes, and a solid piece of gear I’m glad to have in my rotation.

    Spring loaded, potentially more dangerous
I already own two different models of genuine Leatherman name brand multi-tools. I think the one has been with me for over 25 years. I simply wanted a cheaper alternative to have a spare tool in one of my work boxes – a tool that I wouldn’t mind losing or having stolen. As the saying goes, you generally get what you pay for here. The build quality on this unit is OK, but it lacks some refinements. The thing I dislike the most is the spring loaded pliers. To me, this is a major design flaw, and could even be dangerous when you are switching from one tool to the next. The unit is overall much more bulky and clumsy, and this is not helped by the design of the handles. It’s almost like the entire scale of the unit is completely off between the nose of the pliers and the folding sides.I think it will hold up for occasional use, and for this price that’s all I can expect. It’s heavy and seemingly well designed, but if you truly want a Leatherman, get one new or even lightly used and you will be more happy.UPDATE:This thing IS dangerous, and was an epic fail on a recent job where I had to cut a very thin wire. Instead of the cutters working as they should, they locked up on the wire, requiring another multitool to undo the problem. Also, in practical use, the design of the handle and blade is awkward and unsafe. Going to seek refund.

It’s not the same thing that’s shown on images that nylon cover also different.it’s seems like low quality one

  8. valerie

I keep this in my glove compartment. It is REALLY heavy duty with a nice quality case. I looked at other options that cost 3 times as much! This is just perfect. Great quality and price for such a useful little in “case of emergency” tool.

  9. Just me

    Very handy little tool

  10. MJ Howe

Using it many times so far has held up well for me. I like the pouch it is stored in and the build quality vs the price

  11. Aarekyaa

Love the locking feature. Heavy and seems well built & solid. Very stiff, perhaps it will loosen up with some use.
