From disappointment to great joy
My Samsung smart remote control stopped holding a charge, so I got this as a replacement. At first I thought I got a defective unit because it wouldn’t pair with my TV and it wouldn’t light up when I plugged it in my USB charger. I was disappointed and ready to return this remote.Fortunately, after doing some online research I found out that some remotes cannot be charged with high speed chargers. So, I plugged this remote into a slower USB charger, the light on the remote lit up, and we were in business! After I let the remote charge for a while, I was able to pair it with my TV and all was right with the world.This solar-powered remote is a great upgrade from my original remote, which was not solar-powered. It’s slightly longer, thicker and heavier than my original remote. The build quality and performance is just as good as my original remote. The built-in solar panel is a nice feature. It charges from indoor light, so it won’t require charging as frequently as the original remote did. That’s a definite plus.Despite the slight differences in size and weight, this remote is practically identical to the original remote, which I appreciate. So far, it has performed flawlessly. If the battery in this remote lasts longer than the one in my original remote, then this remote will be a good value at the current price. Five stars, highly recommended!
