Differences of NC, NO, NC/NO
Normally Closed(NC): When the switch is close to the magnet, the circuit is conductive(light on); when the switch is separated from the magnet, the circuit is not conductive(light off).
Normally Opened(NO): When the switch is separated from the magnet, the circuit is conductive(light on); When the switch is close to the magnet, the circuit is not conductive(light off).
NC/NO Combined: The switch has 3 contact types: NC/NO/COM, you can choose to connect two of the contacts(NC-COM or NO-COM).

PLEASE NOTE
A magnetic door contact can only provide a switching signal to the device. It cannot directly load the power supply and cannot be directly connected to the lamp.

    Works flawlessly
I recently installed these sensors for a remote garage door project, and I’m really impressed with their performance. These sensors (MC-38 model, 5-pack) are exactly what I needed. The sensors come with adhesive paper, so you can easily mount them on doors or windows without any drilling or hassle. I used the adhesive to install the sensors and everything stuck securely in place. The wires are long enough to give you flexibility on where you want to connect them, and the surface mount design makes it easy to attach them to any flat surface. The magnetic reed switch works flawlessly. When the door opens, the circuit breaks, triggering action. The response time is quick, and I’ve had no issues with false triggers or malfunctions. The build quality is solid for the price. The sensors are compact yet durable, and the adhesive backing holds up well over time. I’ve had them installed for a few months now, and they’ve remained firmly in place, even on a garage door that is opened and closed frequently. For a 5-pack, the price is fantastic. These sensors offer excellent value considering the price point.

Small, Compact, Reliable and super-sticky! Great adhesion!
I purchased the NC version of these switches. (ie: Normally Closed with magnet near the switch.) These fit the bill and were exactly what I needed. The small size made them easy to install discreetly. There wire leads were long enough to work with (I needed to extend them with additional wire, but they were easy to connect with butt-connectors (crimp style). Switch is reliable and the magnet is strong enough to be able to activate the switch even when not touching. Screws are provided for affixing to most surfaces, however on my PVC (plastic) window frames, the self-adhesive backing is VERY strong and adheres well. (Just make certain to clean the surface with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt and oils. NOT windex, that leaves a film… only alcohol will work.) — Three purchases of this item so far! If I need more, I’ll be back.

Now I have a “smart” garage door.
Used with “Home Assistant” to sense whether or not the garage overhead door was open. Wired into a Shelly relay, and now I can see door state, and open/close door with phone app or Home Assistant. Works great.

    They work good…
I bought these because i was replacing micro switches with them to control lighting i made for my kitchen cabinets. All but one worked. Guess I got a bad one, it shows resistance and when connected to the light the light stays on regardless of magnet position. I bought n.o. switches. Max current says 150mA on the listing. Each light i built is 54mA so the light didnt cause it cause the light is well under the 80% rule. 80% of 150 is 120 so im nowhere close. Other than that one, all the others are working great. The lights turn on when the magnet is approx. 1/2 inch away or more!

    Good replacement sensors
Replaced six windows and used these new sensors. Seamlessly integrated into the alarm system, size makes them unobtrusive. Good value for the money

  6. Steven Conour

    Less than half work
Only 2 out of the 5 worked reliably, 1 is finicky, and 2 are useless.Update: The finicky one just died.

  7. TheRealElbadoo

Normally closed AND normally open in one unit
I have an application that needs a normally-closed-when-magnet-present reed switch and this does the job perfectly.
