Food Scale + Connected Mobile App = Game Changing
The scale itself probably shouldn’t be the main reason you’re buying this. The scale plus the Bluetooth connected mobile application that comes with it is the reason. It’s amazing to have your food weight instantly update in real-time on your smartphone display on the app. This is especially useful if you have a large mixing bowl on the scale which blocks you from reading the display.This is just the beginning, however. Tell the mobile app that you’re going to weigh out some strawberries, add said strawberries to the scale, and watch as the mobile app provides all the macro-nutrient information for the weight of the strawberries present. You can then add this entry to your “plate” and weigh out all of your other foods until your “plate” is complete. Talk about insanely easy nutrient counting. The only thing better would be someone to do it all for you!It tracks more than just Fats, Proteins, and Carbs. Vitamins and minerals of all shapes and sizes are added to your diet diary within the app as you add foods, weigh them, and add them to your plate. Watching your potassium intake? It’s already calculated based on the weight of all the food items on your virtual plate.I’ve been on the Keto diet for over a year and being able to effortlessly measure my food portions so I stay within my fat, protein, and carb limits is invaluable. I lost 40lbs but was stuck and couldn’t lose anymore. Once I started weighing my food with this, I started losing weight again.So, any downsides? Not many so far. One thing I will note is that the smartphone app isn’t dedicated to just this scale. Many different devices connect to the app and it looks like there are a bunch of automation functions. I don’t know if this applies to the scale as I haven’t played around with it. Anytime you launch the app you have to tap on an icon of your food scale. I think the premise is that eventually, you’ll have a list of products that connect to the app. For now, it’s just annoying to open the app, tap your scale, and then begin vs just opening the app and beginning. Not a huge problem at all, though.If you need to measure out your food, it’s a great scale. If you need to measure your food and track macronutrients, it’s an amazing scale.

Works great! The only thing that’s annoying is after weighing on the large scale I had to wait for a message to clear that advised to open the app. That was very annoying to weight for and added considerable time to my project.

Bought this for my husband because he’s been paying more attention to his nutrition/fitness. He uses this a lot when preparing snacks and other meals although I do cook more than he does. He really enjoys incorporating technology into daily life and this is a simple way he can do that. He’s able to keep track of how much he is eating. It works well with his phone. It is thin and light. Easy to use. We’ve had it for a few months now and haven’t had any issues with it so far and I’m hoping it lasts for quite awhile because the last scale we bought from another brand did not work well after a short period of time.

The actual scale works great. I purchased it to go with my renpho scale and app. The food diary app has very few food options. Almost every barcode I scan doesn’t work and I have to add it in manually. My other food tracking ap is not that much work.

Just needed to replace an old scale I had. Went with this one, first I love the all stainless look, fits well with other kitchen appliances. Pretty simple to use. I do appreciate the coffee maker feature. I haven’t used that yet but I know I will for good French press coffee. The new health app is a very nice feature and although, I had to figure out how to join the Bluetooth, it was fine afterwards. The instructions are a little vague on what you’ll see in the app. It doesn’t connect automatically per se, it will show up in the app THEN you will see an option to add new devices. I also have the bathroom scale and it detected that as well and pulled all of my data in. So it’s nice to have both in the same app. Very informative. Easy to wipe clean and the design is modern and seamless. My favorite thing has to be the fluid oz. Measurement which my old scale didn’t have. I may have been measuring wrong the entire time but now it’s very specific. I even tested the accuracy using a measuring cup. Very good purchase. Renpho is very reliable and the products aren’t cheap feeling material or design.

The app enhances the user experience and allows you to track your daily consumptions with ease. You can use it to brew your coffee to track your caloric intake or you can just use it to measure your portions. Overall great product at a great value.
