Lights on, lights off! Cool!
I ordered this Tuya Zigbee Gateway to use with some smart plugs so I could control the lights in my rental, and it has worked out well for what I needed. Setup was fairly simple. You just plug it in and connect it to your Wi-Fi through the Smart Life app, and follow the steps in the app. It does not have an Ethernet port, so everything is wireless, which was fine for me.Once connected, it paired with my Tuya Zigbee devices without much trouble. I like being able to control the lights from my phone, especially when I’m not home. That convenience is really the main reason I bought it. It also supports Zigbee, Bluetooth Mesh, Wi-Fi control, and works as a hub for the compatible devices. So far it’s been reliable and does what it’s supposed to do. I would like to see more compatible device options in the future, but for basic light control and smart plug use, it works just fine for me. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.

Bluetooth Could not find the gateway
I spent over an hour trying to set this up and I was unsuccessful. I already had the app on my iPhone. Bluetooth did not discover the hub and I twisted myself in knots including rebooting my router and resetting the device. As with many of these “overseas” items, the instruction manual requires a magnifying glass to read. Even though it was step by step, I couldn’t get past the first step.

good for what it does, but does not integrate with SmartThings, or other non-Tuya devices
This was easy to set up. I am using the TreatLife app and devices which are 100% compatible with Tuya, and it was easy to set up this hub and have it recognized. It’s small and does not get warm and can be powered by even the smallest usb power supply. *However*, I could not attach any non-Tuya/TreatLife devices to it. I was hoping it would be a way to integrate other Zigbee/Bluetooth/Mesh devices but you can’t use it that way. I am going to try to integrate it with SmartThings, using the Smarthings<>Tuya/TreatLife integration and see if that provides a way to attach devices, but I don’t thing so. If you want to stay in the Tuya/TreatLife universe this is a nice addition to use other devices other than WiFi based ones.

Easy Tuya Hub Setup and It Found My Devices Immediately
I received this Tuya/Smart Life multi-mode gateway at no cost through the Amazon Vine program, and it’s a solid little hub if you’re trying to manage Zigbee and Bluetooth devices in one place instead of relying on a bunch of separate connections.Setup was straightforward with no wiring, and the Smart Life app walked me through it quickly. The best part: during setup, the hub detected four other Tuya-app devices right away, which made pairing and organizing everything much faster than I expected.Once connected, it’s convenient having one bridge for mixed devices (Zigbee + Bluetooth Mesh) under the same app, plus the ability to build simple scenes/automations using sub-devices as triggers. If you’re building out a Tuya-based smart home and want more reliable control than Wi-Fi-only devices, this is a practical upgrade.Overall, easy to set up, quick to discover devices, and a good foundation for expanding a Tuya/Smart Life smart home.

Super easy to add Zigbee devices
I ordered this adapter so that I could remove some of the proprietary smart home devices from their respective hubs and add them as just local Zigbee nodes.First off, when I ordered this gateway for some reason I thought it was going to be way bigger. Turns out, this device is about the size of 1/2 a deck of cards and probably only about 1/2″ thick. Very small and compact. That is as plus as it can be placed centrally and easily hidden away. The device comes with a USBC power cord (no brick, but we all have a box of power bricks these days ;-). Plugging it in, it lights up two status lights, blue & red. It easily paired to my Android Tuya app. Next, I wanted to see how easy it was to add a zigbee device. I didn’t have any that were unused, so I unpaired (delete’d) a smart bulb from my existing proprietary hub (big name brand.) Using the app, I easily paired the bulb with the gateway, which was in another room about 50 feet away through a wall. This is a great solution if you are looking to remove dependence on a number of different cloud providers that are managing various Zigbee devices and put them under a single provider. I run Home Assistant and while it nicely integrates all sorts of different smart cloud provider platforms, Keeping It Simple goes a long way. The Gateway shows up in Home Assistant as a device, but it currently has no options to manage it, although I’m sure it won’t be long till someone is able to integrate better. The one downside is that it still requires the Tuya cloud even though Zigbee devices are capable of operating locally with no cloud given the right platform. I also run a zigbee2mqtt server in my Home Assistant ecosystem, but using this gateway lets me access the Tuya cloud directly when I am away from home.

Works great once you get it synced up
I picked this up to bridge a few different ZigBee sensors I had lying around, and overall, it does exactly what it’s supposed to. The physical setup is about as simple as it gets—just plug it in and let it do its thing. I was a little worried about the Bluetooth and Mesh compatibility, but it picked up my existing Tuya-compatible devices without much of a headache. The range is actually better than I expected for such a small, lightweight hub. I have it sitting in my living room and it reaches the sensors in my back hallway with no lag or dropouts so far. It’s definitely a nice, low-profile way to manage a smart home setup without needing a massive, expensive bridge for every different brand of device you buy.The only slight hurdle was the initial pairing with the app; it took a couple of tries for my phone to “see” the gateway, but once it connected, the firmware update was quick and everything has been stable since. If you’re looking for an affordable way to get your ZigBee and Bluetooth gear talking to each other, this is a solid little workhorse.
