Expensive, and awesome!
Wow, best coffee related purchase ever. So many ways to adjuast any of the 20 drinks ot offers! UI seems easy to use and self explanatory. BONUS, it makes the house smell great. It seems to be constructed very well with good quality materials. GThe Latte Go feature ios super easy to keep clean and it the instructions on screen are very easy as well. hard to mess up. My only comeent would be to watch the bean hopper, sometimes it needs a little to keep the well filled, I would purchase this agin.

This is my best purchase! It’s not a necessity, but now I enjoy my coffee every day. Yes, I had to fiddle with the settings a bit. You need to find the right coffee grind for you. But in the end, everything worked out and the coffee is delicious.

Great machine, surprisingly quiet grinding, easy to clean.
Family favorite. The biggest problem here is you will end up making a lot of coffee, and some very incredible hot chocolate and about a million other things. Definitely gets a lot of good use. Great morning cup, even if a little smaller, but it is easy to make a double. Love trying the variations. The steamer is able to do quite a bit, and it is easy to clean. The grinding is also remarkably quiet compared to other automatics we have had.

Convenient way to get quality espresso coffee drinks
I’ve owned the 5400 for almost 5 years before it started not cleaning properly I feel there’s a blockage in the coffee spout. But it still made coffee. So i replaced it with this 5500 model. I’ve noticed the improvements a quieter grinder more of a seal on the coffee bean holder. And more of a seal on the milk holder top. Give it at least your first 20 or so drinks before fully judging the taste of the drinks. To adjust grinder push down while its grinding counter clockwise is finer clockwise is more course. Only move it one click at a time. It gives nice foam for your cappuccino and lattes. And a good creama on top of your coffee and espresso. If you’re coming from the pod system or regular coffee maker you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure it’s turned off when taking out the brew group there’s a lock system. Rinse it off weekly. Grease it monthly. For reference I love a strong full flavored coffee I always use the extra shot feature in my drinks.

Bad brew
Couldn’t get a good cup of coffee or espresso from this machine. Drop in chute just puts coffee all over the insides of the machine. Had a Saeco machine and loved it. Brew group looks the same but this machine was a huge disappointment. Waste didn’t drop firm pucks. Spent a couple hours trying to brew good cup but bust just wasted half a bag of beans. Website literally just suggested brewing more coffee and eventually it is supposed to be good.

Coming from a Jura and we love it. Will see how long she lasts but the additional warranty from Philips upon registration was a nice surprise.Milk frother actually works and is easy to clean. Find myself making a cappuccino quite often due to the ease of use and of course the flavor and the frothed milk! Have only scratched the surface of all this thing can do. Only slight complaint is the bean hopper feeds of to one side, and due to the build, beans don’t always make their way into the grinder. So sometimes machine thinks it’s out of beans before it really is.

Great Espresso machine but very limited warranty.
This is a great Espresso machine with far more options than the preceding model. However, I gave it four stars due to the very short warranty. (36 months) My last Philips Espresso machine came with a 10-year warranty, which to me suggests that this 5500 unit may not be as robust as the one I have stored in my garage as a backup. Time will tell.

Es perfecta en todos los sentidos. Para el día a día de una pareja ordinaria, es una maravilla. Al principio nos asustamos porque no encontrábamos la tapa de la parte superior, pero nos dimos cuenta de que se encontraba excesivamente acolchonada y envuelta en cartón y material protector. Por poco la desechamos pensando que era una colchoneta para asegurarla en su caja hehe. 100/10 la volvería a comprar sin duda.

Me gustó, el único pero que le veo es que la espumadora viene configurada para cada café y no puedes espumarlo de más, otra aclaración veo muchos comentarios que la máquina tiene residuos de café y que está usada, el mismo manual lo dice, está cafetera fue probada con café real y es posible que contenga residuos fuera de eso me gustó mucho y es muy cómoda y fácil de usar

la cafetera funciona muy bien y es realmente fácil de usar, pero según la descripción de lo que debía traer, faltó un pequeño tubo para engrasar periódicamente (una vez por mes) la pieza que prepara el café. Es una grasa especial de grado alimenticio que se puede comprar aparte ($500.00 pesos mexicanos).
